Frequently Asked Questions
Why can I only start my booking on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday?
These are our change over days. This is to try and ensure you get peace and aren't disturbed for the majority of your stay.
Yes, we are currently operating a two night minimum stay.
If you would like to book a number of our vehicles, or the whole site for a group booking, please contact us by phone, email or whatsapp, so that we can discuss your requirements.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you cancel more than 12 weeks before your stay a full refund will be given. If you cancel less than 12 weeks but more than 6 weeks before your stay a 50% refund will be given. If you cancel your booking less than 6 weeks before your stay, no refund will be given.
All cancellations must be in writing either by post or email. In the event of cancellation by you we do recommend that holiday insurance is purchased to protect you from loss. On cancellation, we have the right to resell the booking. All bookings are none transferable.
In the unlikely event that The Layby Lincs has to cancel your booking due to extreme conditions (weather, war or terrorism) or unforeseeable circumstances (ill health, fire, administration), then a full refund will be given.
Can we bring the children?
We are an adults only site, so no children are allowed on site. All of our vehicles have a Kingsize bed and are therefore designed around a couple or solo guest.
Which vehicles are pet friendly?
We allow pets in all of our vehicles. Dennis and Gee Gee come with a fenced area where your dog can be allowed off lead.
We ask that you let us know if you are bringing a pet at the time of booking and provide an idea of their size/breed as this may impact which vehicle you are able to book. For example, we would not recommend booking Willy if you have a large dog.
Please note, we do have free range chickens on site. If you have a dog that will be upset by the chickens, please let us know and we can keep them in their run during your stay. We also have our own dog, who can be reactive towards other dogs. She will be secured in our private garden when other dogs are on site.
The vehicles are arranged around the Wildlife pond, this is not fenced off. Please do not let your pets go into the pond as we have resident breeding Moorhens who like their privacy.
What facilities are included?
Each vehicle has its own bathroom, deck, covered outdoor kitchen and wood-fired hot tub. We provide bedding, bed linen, towels, robes and slippers.
The bathroom and kitchen both have hot water supplied by a 180L cylinder, which is powered by electricity generated by our solar system. Although not an endless supply, there is plenty for you to shower and wash up before it needs to heat more water.
What is in the outdoor kitchen?
Our outdoor kitchens are basic, but come with a two zone induction hob, fridge, sink with hot and cold running water, crockery, cutlery, utensils, pots and pans, tea towels, kettle, washing up facilities and tea, coffee and sugar.
How much does it cost to use the hot tub?
One night of hot tub use is included in your stay. We can build the fire for you, and if required can light it so the tub is ready for use on your arrival.
If you would like to use the hot tub for any additional nights there will be a charge of £40 per night. Please ensure you have read and understood the hot tub instructions before use.
Do you have BBQ's?
Each vehicle has a BBQ for you to use. BBQ tools are provided but you will need to supply your own charcoal. Please do not use BBQs on the decked areas.
Can we have a fire?
Fire pits are available for your use upon request. If you need to purchase additional logs, please let us know.
Can we get food delivered?
Due to our rural location, there are no restaurants that deliver to the site. There are takeaway restaurants that you can collect from in Spilsby and Burgh le Marsh. Please note, many of our local takeaways are cash only.
ALL the major supermarkets seem to deliver to site. We tend to use Sainsbury's, but others do deliver here.
Do you have Parking? Is there an EV Charger?
We have a car park for you to use, all vehicles are left at the owners risk and we do not accept any responsibility for them. That being said the car park is the only area of the site covered by CCTV. We run the entire site on solar and currently don't have capacity to install an EV charger. We may, depending on weather be able to provide a normal 13a socket for charging, but please presume you cannot charge on site.
Are we allowed guests on site?
As a general rule, only people who have booked and are staying in a vehicle are allowed on site. If you wish to invite a guest on site, please speak to Alex or Louise.
